i might have mentioned it before…but perhaps by mentioning it again, i can impart the severity of the quarter-life crisis.
it is real folks, regardless of the parental scoffing, and underage questioning. it happens.
according to a brilliant article from discover magazine, there are five undeniable phases:

Phase 1– A feeling of being trapped by your life choices. Feeling as though you are living your life on autopilot.Phase 2– A rising sense of “I’ve got to get out” and the feeling that you can change your life.Phase 3– Quitting the job or relationship or whatever else is making you feel trapped and embarking on a “time out” period where you try out new experiences to find out who you want to be.Phase 4– Rebuilding your life.Phase 5– Developing new commitments more attuned to your interests and aspirations.

so let’s review…after feeling the itch, i quit my job, went into another equally ridiculous sanctum of stress, still have an itch so bad it rivals chicken pox, and have yet to rebuild my life (whatever that means) or attune my job to my interests (and what are those again?).

can someone say winning…

the good news? according the article this little slice of life questioning should only last to my mid-30s, so really i am almost to enlightenment.

and until then, i plan on indulging heavily in wine, fattening foods, and other debaucherous means to attain nirvana…even if it is a hazy one.
