The above sparkly baubles originally belonged to Empress Catherine I of Russia. That’s an Empress of the 1700’s in case you were wondering. (I know, one must really brush up on their mid-century Russian history.)
having worked the entire weekend through, my monday is quite lackluster (read: i have NO desire to do work whatsoever). so with this misguided ample time i resorted to what every normal girl does when she has too much time on her hands - started online shopping.
in doing so i found my new favorite site - catbird nyc - ok so i realize i might be a little late to the game, but swoon i did. this site offers small jewelry and craft creators a space to sell their goods. it’s like etsy if etsy decided to go luxe…shiny, diamondy, sparkly luxe.
so during my routine monday morning procrastination period i stumbled upon the acanthus jewelry website.
and i fell in love.
this is unfortunate for two reasons. 1) it is monday morning and i should really be diving into the mountains of work i have in front of me instead of piling up my shopping cart with twinkling doodads and sparkly thingamajigs. 2) my cart now totals close to $400 and well, i must be dreaming if i think i can afford even half of that, especially this close to the 15th. dream on girl.
i have hope though…christmas is around the corner and well every girl loves some twinkly sparkly whatsits. insert hinting nudge here.
